On-Snow Assistant

Description

Assist the adaptive instructor with the lesson both indoors and on-the-hill. The assistant is also an ambassador to the student and his/her family, explaining the Adaptive Program and their involvement. Outside activities involve skiing/riding with the instructor and student while helping the instructor as needed. This includes helping the student on and off the chairlift.

Qualifications

  • Advanced beginner skier or rider
  • Minimum Age of 16
  • Desire and/or previous experience working with people with disabilities

Training Requirements

  • Half-day adaptive orientation session the morning of January 6th or 7th
  • On-snow training on January 6th or 7th.

Time Commitment

After completing the training, you will need to volunteer for a minimum of 5 weekend days during the season.
